Christopher Nesbit is a Senior Journalism Major at Loyola University New Orleans with experience in audio-visual work, digital content creation, and information technology.
Before college, Christopher took Television Production and Advanced Television Broadcasting courses, where he learned video shooting and editing. He also worked two summers as a student technician for a school district's IT department, maintaining computers and classroom equipment.
At Loyola, Christopher has served as Video Coordinator and Senior Staff Videographer for The Maroon newspaper. His investigative reporting on campus academic affairs won first place for Best Investigative Reporting in the Louisiana Press Association's Better Newspaper Competition (Gibbs Adams Award).
For nearly two years, Christopher has worked in Loyola's Media Services department, maintaining projectors, sound systems, and computers in over 50 lecture rooms. He also manages servers for computer imaging and inventory systems. His other experience includes operating QLAB and ETC lighting boards at Rivertown Theaters and creating content as a creative associate for a non-profit communications firm.
Christopher is proficient in DaVinci Resolve for video editing and was previously certified in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. His journalism focuses on giving people a platform to discuss their passions and advocate for change.
After graduation, Christopher plans to pursue some form of audio-visual work where he can help others communicate effectively. He sees journalism and AV work as complementary fields that both focus on helping people share their message.
